Stress to the medical community is a precursor to many health conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, adrenal fatigue, fibromyalgia and many other things. Truly stress starts the ball rolling for many issues but I digress. For this post our focus is on 5 ways you can reduce stress now!
FIVE THINGS TO DO NOW!

First, look at what areas in your life are stressing you now. Can you make some scheduling changes, utilize your calendar better or maybe meal plan to take some stress off your day to day tasks.

Second, grab a journal. I know it sounds crazy to some but simply setting timer and writing in that journal uncensored, whatever, I do mean whatever comes out in say 5 minutes of just free writing will free up your mind and help you relax. Start with 5 minutes and work your way up.

Third, using a meditation app to help you take just a few minutes to deep breathe and really focus will help. There a many on the app store and play store so look. I personally LOVE the Calm app. They have a free and a paid version so check it out at no cost.

Fourth, drink some Tea with delicious herbs like Earl Grey, Chamomile, Peppermint or passion flower. Whatever your favorites is stop "doing" and just drink one cup while doing nothing else. Or maybe while journaling ;)

And finally fifth, you didn't think we'd get out of here without some essential oil love did you?! Use those oils friends! Make an aromatherapy inhaler/ aromastick and USE it! You can take your favorite stress busting aroma with you to calm you on the go, in the elevator at work before that meeting, heck in your kids school pick up or drop off line, use it where ever it is that is making you feel the most stressed. Try these recipes to get you started:

  • 2 drops Lavender, 2 drops Frankincense 2 drops Bergamot apply essential oils to wick and cap.
  • 4 drops Sweet Orange, 2 drops Lemon, 2 drops Sandalwood apply to wick and cap end.
  • 2 drops Black Spruce, 2 drops Lavender, 1 drop Peppermint, I love this for calmly focusing when I feel a bit scattered.
  • 2 drops Cedarwood, 1 drop Lavender, 1 drop Tangerine add to wick and cap.

Find some of your favorite oils and use blends you enjoy! If you aren't a DIY oiler grab anyone of our relaxation blends and a pack of inhalers and make yourself one. If you don't want to make it up order a 10 ml of your favorite and in the notes to us put you want it in an inhaler form and I will personally make it up for you same price. It's your time friends so take a minute and really take care of you. Your body will thank you for it!
