Basil oil is amazing! It smells lovely, herby but licorice like and is a powerful little oil in muscle and pain blends as well as for nausea. It's one of my favorite oils in my massage practice because blended with Frankincense, Cypress, Peppermint or really any of my go to oils it can help them get my clients feeling better and reduce that tension and pain that brought them in. A little info about Basil oil:

Name: Basil Essential Oil

Latin Name: Ocimum basilicum ct. linalool

Country of Origin (or Countries): Mediterranean, Europ, India

Chemical Families: Sesquiterpenes, Monoterpenols, Oxides

Botanical Family: Lamiaceae

Plant Part Used: Leaves, Flowers

Therapeutic Properties: Analgesic, Anti-inflammatory, Antiemetic, Antibacterial, Antifungal, Antioxidant, Antispasmodic, Antiviral, Carminative, Cephalic. (See descriptions of these terms)

Safety Data or Cautions: Depends on chemotype, the linalool type is considered safe for the skin with a max dermal application of 3%. Basil ct. estragole is not recommended during pregnancy.

Blends well with: Cedarwood, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Grapefruit, Lime, Neroli, Sandalwood, Peppermint.

Muscle Soothing Blend

3 drops Basil ct linalool, 2 Peppermint, 3 drops Balsam Copaiba blended into 1 ounce Jojoba. Gently massage onto tired or painful muscles.

Inhaler

3 drops Basil, 2 drops Peppermint add oils to inhaler wick and cap the end. Use for nausea, headaches, or even to help perk you up when feeling tired.
