Soothe those legs and get things done with Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint essential oil is one of those super versatile, used for many and by many and makes a great addition to your oily cabinet ;) It's great for tummy trouble, headaches, muscle tension, focus, coughs and congestion, inflammation, I mean really the list just goes on but before you throw a bunch of peppermint oil on it's important to note there are a few concerns and cautions.

We always talk dilution and lets face it it just wouldn't be an EOH blog without the essential oil safety info. Dilution is key with this oil, it doesn't have to be perfect but it does need to happen and less peppermint is more in this case but you can use this oil and love its benefits!

Therapeutic Properties: Analgesic, Anti-inflammatory, Antibacterial, Antiemetic, Antifungal, Antioxidant, Antispasmodic, Antiviral, Astringent, Carminative, Circulatory Stimulant, CNS Stimulant, Cooling, Decongestant, Expectorant, Febrifuge, Inmmunostimulant, Liver Support/Protection. Safety Data or Cautions: May cause skin or mucous membrane irritation, max dermal use of 5%. Avoid using with children under 5 years old, can be neurotoxic when applied near their faces. Menthol rich oils should be avoided by people with clotting disorders and is contraindicated for folks with G6PD deficiency or cardiac fibrillation. It is a stimulating oil so I recommend caution for those with Epilepsy even though not a documented concern Neuro Stimulation can be a factor for that condition.

Blends well with: Basil, Coriander, Eucalyptus globulus and radiata, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon, Palmarosa, Black Pepper, Rosemary, Spearmint, Lavender, Spruce, Wintergreen, Ylang Ylang and many others. 

 Peppermint Essential Oil Recipes

Stimulating Foot Scrub

3 drops Peppermint, 2 drops Lavender,  1 cup Organic Cane Sugar, 1/2 to 1/3 cup Jojoba mix ingredients in jar and scrub onto feet and legs to improve circulation and soothe sore tired legs.

Focus Diffuser Recipe

Add 2 drops Peppermint, 3 drops Sweet Orange to your diffuser and enjoy the bright and light aroma.
